Fake Residence Permit Operation: 64 Suspects Caught in 8 Provinces

A simultaneous operation was carried out in 8 provinces against suspects who provided foreign nationals with fake residence permits. The operation was conducted on charges of migrant smuggling, forgery of official documents, and bribery. The investigation, led by the Istanbul Police Department, examined the activities of certain consulting companies. The online accounting systems of these companies were inspected, and it was discovered that they had obtained residence permits for many foreign nationals through unlawful means. The suspects were found to have tampered with the documents used in their residence permit applications and to have prepared false or entirely fake documents. A total of 64 suspects were taken into custody during the operation.
