Ministry of Health's 2-Year Review: 92% Reduction in Citizens Waiting for Appointments
The Ministry of Health has reviewed its activities over the past two years in line with the 'Healthy Turkey Century' vision. According to the Ministry's statement, the number of pending appointment requests in the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS) decreased from 4 million to 322 thousand. This resulted in a 92% decrease in the number of citizens waiting for appointments. Additionally, the satisfaction rate with general health services increased by 6.2 points in the last year, reaching 69.4%. To strengthen primary health care services, 126 new Healthy Life Centers and 598 Family Health Centers (ASM) were established, along with 100 secondary and tertiary health facilities, over the past two years. The number of service points across Turkey reached 348 Healthy Life Centers and 8,350 ASMs. The digital organ donation application, launched through the integration of e-Government and e-Nabız, led to 136,884 citizens becoming donors; the monthly number of organ donations increased from 2,500 to 14,000. The 'Where is my medicine?' application added to e-Nabız directed an average of 900,000 citizens to pharmacies where their prescribed medications were available. Over the past two years, 782 new medications were added to the reimbursement scope. The 'Learn Your Ideal Weight, Live Healthy' campaign, held in 2025, resulted in citizens losing a total of approximately 513,000 kilograms. This effort is being continued with the 'Learn Your Activity Age, Live Healthy' campaign. Furthermore, 1,723,000 pregnant women received pregnancy education, while coordinators guided 722,629 pregnant women under the 'Every Pregnant Woman Should Have a Midwife' program.
