Champion Racehorse Undergoes Physical Therapy

A 16-year-old racehorse with over 100 awards, including 24 first-place finishes, has started physical therapy for a back injury in Diyarbakır.The horse is being treated at the Dicle University Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital and will receive two courses of physical therapy. According to Associate Dean of the Veterinary Faculty, Doç. Dr. Emine Çatalkaya, the horse is expected to recover after two weeks of physical therapy.Physical therapy is used to improve musculoskeletal injuries, reduce pain, and increase performance, said Çatalkaya, adding:A 15-day plan of electrotherapy, therapeutic ultrasound, and low-energy laser therapy has been implemented for the horse's treatment.
