Putin Highlights the Role of Naval Forces and Scientists in Russia’s Maritime Power
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the historical role of military sailors and scientists in the country's achievement of becoming a major maritime power. In his video message on Navy Day, Putin highlighted the strategic importance of the navy to the country and pointed out the decisive role of the personnel of the Russian Navy and scientists in this success.

Today, our country honors its brave naval forces and those who have written the glorious history of our navy with their victories on the battlefields, selfless efforts, and brilliant scientific achievements. Russia owes its status as a major maritime power to them.

The Russian leader noted that the country's naval forces are constantly being improved, and the professional level of sailors and marines is also increasing. Given that Russia is a country surrounded by 13 seas, Putin stated that the Russian Navy plays a critical role in ensuring the country's security.

The superior abilities of our marines and ship personnel, combined with their courage, unwavering will, and boldness, continue to shape the course of the special military operation.

Putin also mentioned that the public has a special respect for military sailors, and continued:

The public has always had a special respect for military sailors; the respect and pride they deserve are well-earned. The burden on their shoulders is not limited to successfully completing combat missions, but also requires withstanding harsh natural conditions.

In Russia, Navy Day is celebrated every year on the last Sunday of July, honoring the contributions of military sailors and scientists.
