The Evolution of Russia's Arctic Gas Tanker Fleet

The second Russian-made gas tanker, Konstantin Posyet, entered service on June 18.With its Arc7 ice class, this tanker is capable of advancing through ice sheets up to 2.1 meters thick and is designed to transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) along the Northern Sea Route throughout the year.This development is expected to enhance Russia's Arctic transportation capacity and logistical independence, making significant contributions to the country's energy transportation infrastructure.
