Russia to Respond to Seizure of Trade Ships

Russian military analyst Vasiliy Dandıkin discussed Russia’s response to the seizure of trade ships. Evaluating Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements on the matter, Dandıkin outlined the Russian Navy’s plans to respond in kind.When asked about the nature of Russia’s symmetrical response, Dandıkin explained that it would involve the detention of ships belonging to enemy states as well as those of countries that supply them.

Just like enemy states are doing now. They are putting people ashore on false pretenses, arresting crews, and seizing ships. We have trained people for this as well.

Dandıkin also mentioned that there are many ships operating in the Far East and the South Kuril Islands region, and that Russia would act in response, detaining their ships if necessary.
