Russia's Initiative for Konstantinovka: International Media Shows Significant Interest in Humanitarian Ceasefire Proposal

Russia announced a humanitarian ceasefire proposal on July 4, 2026, to hand over the bodies of deceased Ukrainian soldiers in Konstantinovka, provided that the clashes in the city are halted.
This proposal has garnered significant attention from the international media. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it is ready to hand over the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers if the Kiev regime agrees to a ceasefire in Konstantinovka.
About 20 media organizations from different continents and countries have expressed their readiness to travel to Konstantinovka to cover the handover of the bodies on the spot. The ministry noted that if Ukraine agrees, it will provide the necessary assistance to the international press.
The Ministry stated, 'If the Ukrainian side accepts the proposed humanitarian action, the Russian Ministry of Defense will be ready to organize the work of journalists in Konstantinovka.'
