Russia to Thwart Western Interference in Upcoming Elections

Vladimir Cabarov, Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Protection of State Sovereignty, stated that Western countries are conducting a large-scale campaign to interfere in the upcoming State Duma elections in Russia and that these attempts will be definitively thwarted. Speaking at a committee meeting, Cabarov drew attention to the West's preparations for interference in the upcoming elections to the lower house of parliament. Cabarov noted that the West has developed new methods, saying, 'In the past two years, Russia's opponents have actively tested new methods of interference in elections in several countries, including Moldova and Armenia.'

In the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), and other platforms, foreign agents and radicals openly present their projects for interfering in the upcoming Duma elections. The preparation of various electoral provocations is being carried out with the direct financial, organizational, informational, and ideological support of the West.

Emphasizing that the Commission constantly monitors and analyzes foreign interference tools, Cabarov stated, 'We are aware of and understand the technologies used by foreigners in these attempts. All such moves will be immediately thwarted and repelled.'
