Russia and IAEA Reach Agreement on Protection of Zaporozhye NPP

Russia and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have reached an agreement on measures to improve the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, noted that the two delegations agreed on general measures to improve the current situation.After the meeting, Ulyanov announced that agreements were reached on steps to improve the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP. The meeting was held between the Russian interagency delegation and the IAEA delegation led by Director General Rafael Grossi in Kaliningrad.Previously, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev stated that since mid-March, 6 people have been killed and 43 injured in attacks by the Ukrainian army on the plant. The plant has been subjected to over 460 drone and 15 artillery attacks.The details of the agreement between Russia and the IAEA have not been disclosed yet. However, Ulyanov stated that the agreement is an important step towards improving the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP.
