Russia: Awaiting Response from OPCW on Ukraine's Alleged Violation of Chemical Weapons Convention

Russia has presented new information to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) indicating that Ukraine has violated the Chemical Weapons Convention.Russia's OPCW Permanent Representative Vladimir Tarabrin stated that Ukraine's military used munitions containing chlorpicrin in the Donetsk region and expressed expectation of a concrete response from the organization.Tarabrin announced that prior to the OPCW Executive Council's 112th session in The Hague, new information and documents were submitted to council members.According to the data, Ukraine's Armed Forces used munitions containing chlorpicrin, a toxic substance, on January 6 and April 17, 2026, in the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
