US-Russia Meeting Aims to Address Ukraine Crisis

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will meet with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Manila, Philippines, to discuss the Ukraine crisis and the potential role of the US in resolving the conflict. During a press conference in Manila, Rubio stated that he will discuss the Ukraine issue with Lavrov, emphasizing the importance of maintaining diplomatic channels between the two nations. Rubio expressed, “We want to end this war. We will assess the current situation and determine if the US can play a constructive role in resolving the crisis.” Highlighting the need to maintain diplomatic channels despite disagreements, Rubio noted, “The US and Russia must continue their relationship despite existing disagreements.
