Russia's Air Defense Forces Have Downed Over 100,000 Ukrainian Drones Since the Beginning of the Year

Russia's air defense forces have successfully downed more than 100,000 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) since the beginning of 2026. This information was obtained by analyzing the number of Ukrainian UAVs neutralized by the Russian Defense Ministry from January 1 to August 16. During this period, a total of 101,868 aircraft-type UAVs were downed. The month with the most UAVs downed was July, with 21,537. In the first 16 days of August, 16,459 UAVs were downed, while in June, 17,711 were downed, in May, 14,195, in March, 11,211, in April, 9,372, in February, 5,989, and in January, 5,394 UAVs were downed. More than 37% of the total UAVs downed since the beginning of the year (37,996) were downed in July and the first half of August. The daily record of 1,478 UAVs was broken on August 16. The other days with the most UAVs downed were August 15 (1,328), August 2 (1,158), August 6 (1,155), and August 13 (1,150).
