Russia Heading for Conflict with EU

Russian Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Dmitry Polyanskiy stated that the European Union (EU) has transformed from an economic union into a military and anti-Russian bloc. Polyanskiy, in an interview with Russia Today (RT), emphasized that this transformation is a deliberate choice and that the EU is moving towards conflict with Russia.

The European Union is consciously moving towards conflict with Russia. This bloc has transformed from an economic union into a military and Russophobic entity.

He noted that this situation requires Russia to be vigilant and that the recent Ukrainian attack on Yegoryevsk near Moscow will be raised at the OSCE Permanent Council. Polyanskiy expressed his belief that the Western participants in the meeting will not show the necessary attention to this issue.

He also mentioned that some representatives of EU member states have expressed condolences to Russia through unofficial channels but are hesitant to do so publicly.
