Russian and Chinese Navies to Conduct Joint Drills in the Yellow Sea

The Russian Pacific Fleet has arrived in China's Qingdao city to participate in the Maritime Cooperation-2026 exercise. The joint drills, which are set to begin tomorrow, aim to deepen regional security cooperation between the two nations. The Russian and Chinese navies will take part in the Maritime Cooperation 2026 exercise, which will be held in the Yellow Sea from July 6 to 13. The exercise will include training on rescue operations, anti-submarine warfare, air defense, and joint artillery firing, with the support of naval aviation. Russia will be represented by the Varyag cruiser, the Rezkiy corvette, the Ufa submarine, and the Igor Belousov rescue ship, while the Chinese navy will participate with the Anshan and Kaifeng destroyers, the Wuhu frigate, a Yuan-class submarine, and support ships. The Chinese Ministry of Defense stated that the main goal of the exercise is to jointly respond to security issues and maintain regional peace and stability. The Xinhua news agency reported that after the exercise, some units from both countries will conduct a joint patrol in the Pacific waters.
