Russian Gymnastics Legend Ivanova: We Won't Give in to Disrespect

Despite the approval of Russian athletes' participation in tournaments with their flag and anthem, some countries' refusal to recognize this decision is unacceptable. Russian gymnastics legend Lidiya Ivanova supported the decision of Russian gymnasts to withdraw from the tournament in Romania. Ivanova stated that some countries' attempts to disregard these rules by citing their political stance are unacceptable.Ivanova noted that Russia is recognized at the international level and, if necessary, the issue can be taken to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. Ivanova said they have sufficient experience in defending their rights, stating, "We don't take such minor attacks seriously. We will continue to compete wherever we are respected."
