Tram Collision in Rotterdam Leaves 15 Injured

A collision between two trams occurred on the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, Netherlands, leaving 15 people injured. The incident took place at 11:10 local time.The iconic bridge was closed to traffic following the accident. Footage released by news agencies shows one tram colliding with another that was stationary.According to the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Security Region, one of the seven injured people taken to the hospital is in critical condition. Firefighters, ambulances, police teams, and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene. Other injured individuals received treatment at the scene.The cause of the accident is under investigation. The RET company, which operates the trams in Rotterdam, stated that they have seen the footage and are deeply saddened by the incident, saying “Our full attention is on the victims, staff, and passengers.”
