Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency Aims to Expand in Pakistan

The Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency is planning to establish a multipurpose editorial center in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and expand its network of correspondents across the country.
In an interview with the Pakistani media, Rossiya Segodnya Director General Dmitriy Kiselev stated that they plan to launch social media platforms in Urdu and focus on both international developments and news within Pakistan.
Kiselev emphasized that they aim to deepen cooperation with Pakistani media organizations and view Pakistan as a strategic partner. Referring to the agreements signed with the Associated Press of Pakistan, The Nation, and the Pakistan Observer, Kiselev noted that they intend to strengthen their representation in Islamabad, exchange news content, organize media forums, and implement joint projects on economic, scientific, and cultural issues.
South Asia is considered an important region due to its economic growth and vast media market. Multilingual journalism is deemed necessary to support trade and cultural exchange. Publishing in local languages such as Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, and Bengali is among their priorities.
