New Era for Restaurant Menus: Calorie Counts to be Displayed

A significant change is coming to restaurant and café menus starting tomorrow. In addition to food prices, menus will now include calorie counts. This change will begin in chain restaurants and will be rolled out to all restaurants by the end of 2027. This will enable customers to make more informed choices about their meals. The goal of the initiative is to provide customers with healthier dining options and to reduce high-calorie consumption. 8,000 food inspectors from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will oversee the accurate implementation of the new menu regulations.
