Putin and Lula da Silva Discuss Ukraine Crisis and Bilateral Relations

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations and current international issues, including the Ukraine crisis. In a phone call between Putin and Lula da Silva, the results of the Russia-Brazil High-Level Commission meeting held in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, at the beginning of the year, and other contacts were evaluated in terms of further strengthening bilateral relations in various fields. The parties emphasized that particular importance was attached to the expansion and diversification of mutual trade. It was noted that the leaders agreed to explore new opportunities for deepening trade and economic cooperation. Putin and Lula da Silva also exchanged views on current international issues, including the situation around Ukraine.
