Weekly Market Summary: Top Performing Investment Asset Revealed

The week has come to a close. The BIST 100 index rose by 2.38 percent to 13,981.05 points. Gold prices, on the other hand, declined. The gram price of 24-karat gold fell by 2.45 percent to 6,053 liras in the Grand Bazaar. The sales price of the Republic gold also decreased by 1.90 percent to 39,819 liras. The quarter gold lost 1.84 percent of its value and was sold for 9,993 liras. In the foreign exchange market, the US dollar and the euro closed the week with a flat trend. The US dollar was at 46.9870 liras, while the euro was at 53.6950 liras. Investment funds and pension funds also gained value. Investment funds rose by 1.19 percent, while pension funds increased by 1.25 percent. Among investment funds, equity funds provided the highest return.
