Dairy Producer Faces Heavy Penalty for Unauthorized Wastewater Discharge

An investigation in Sakarya's Hendek district revealed that a dairy factory had been illegally discharging untreated wastewater into the sewage system.Following concerns over increased pollution in the Hendek Dinsiz River, an examination was conducted, which found that the factory's wastewater was being stored in an unauthorized underground depot and then discharged into the sewage system without treatment.As a result, the dairy factory was fined 2 million 153 thousand lira, and legal action was initiated against the company's management for 'willful environmental pollution'. The factory's actions were deemed a significant threat to the environment.
