Punjab Province Sees 7 Deaths in 24 Hours Due to Heavy Rains
Heavy rains in Pakistan's Punjab province have resulted in the loss of 7 lives and injured 20 people over the past 24 hours. Authorities have stated that despite the ongoing monsoon rains, there is currently no significant risk of flooding in the major rivers. According to a statement by the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), 7 people lost their lives and 20 were injured in incidents and accidents over the past 24 hours. The statement noted that numerous buildings were damaged and some animals perished, while the water levels in the major rivers remained within normal limits, posing no immediate threat of severe flooding. The statement also reported that since the onset of the monsoon rains, a total of 22 people have lost their lives and 183 have been injured in Punjab. The monsoon rains, which occur in South Asia between June and September, cause widespread natural disasters and accidents in countries such as India and Pakistan every year.
