Paramedic's Courage: Non-Stop CPR on a Stretcher to Save a Life

In Bursa's Nilüfer district, a 53-year-old man named Abdullah Aktiz was severely injured in a traffic accident and his heart stopped beating. Paramedic Esma Akdeniz Özcan rushed to the scene and performed continuous CPR on a stretcher. Upon receiving a call for help from citizens near the scene, Özcan immediately began basic life support. As the stretcher was being transported to the emergency service, she continued the CPR uninterrupted by getting on top of the stretcher. The scene was recorded by bystanders and shared on social media, receiving numerous messages of appreciation. Esma Akdeniz Özcan stated that when she arrived at the scene, the patient had no pulse, and she promptly began basic life support. She emphasized that every minute counts in such situations and that she did not hesitate to act, focusing solely on saving the patient's life. Anesthesia and Reanimation Specialist Dr. Merlin Bozkurt highlighted the importance of timely and proper intervention in the first minutes following a traffic accident. Bozkurt stressed that starting basic life support on time increases a patient's chances of survival and that raising public awareness on this matter is crucial.
