Papara Founder Ahmet Faruk Karslı Rearrested

Papara founder and former owner Ahmet Faruk Karslı was rearrested today after being released yesterday as part of an investigation into illegal betting and money laundering by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.A court had ordered Karslı's release yesterday, but the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office appealed the decision. The court accepted the appeal and ordered Karslı's rearrest.The investigation and trial process against Karslı are ongoing. In October, an investigation into Papara for illegal betting and money laundering was completed.The indictment requested up to 28 years in prison for five executives, including Papara owner Ahmet Faruk Karslı.The indictment stated that approximately 12 billion TL in illegal betting funds were transferred through Papara over two years, and 20 people were accused of being part of the organization, with prison terms of up to 24 years requested.
