Mountain Climbing Tragedy in Pakistan: Bodies of 4 Climbers Found on Broad Peak

Following an avalanche at the 8,047-meter-high Broad Peak in Pakistan's Karakoram Mountains, the bodies of 4 out of 10 missing climbers have been found.Despite adverse weather conditions, search operations for the remaining 6 missing climbers are ongoing. The avalanche at Broad Peak resulted in the disappearance of 10 climbers, including world-renowned mountaineers.According to the Pakistan Alpine Club, the expedition team included five Nepali climbers, Pakistani climber Sohail Sakhi, Omani climber Nathira, American climber Mallory Geis, a Chinese climber identified only by the surname Wang, and another foreign climber.The team was led by Nirmal Purja, a Nepali-born climber who holds a world record for climbing the 14 highest peaks above 8,000 meters in 189 days in 2019. Known as 'Nims Dai', Purja's achievement was later featured in a Netflix documentary.
