Escalating Tensions in the Middle East: Lavrov Warns on Economy

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the escalating tension around Iran poses serious risks for both the global economy and regional security.
Following his meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov, Lavrov emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial point in global oil trade, is not currently free. He noted that this situation puts pressure on the economy and reiterated that security risks persist.
'Moscow is in contact with all parties, calling for an immediate ceasefire and a return to a period where the Strait of Hormuz operates freely, without any issues or extra charges,' Lavrov said. He also mentioned that Moscow is in touch with all parties involved in the crisis in the Gulf, urging them to achieve an immediate ceasefire.
