Six Suspects Detained in Forest Fire Investigations

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that judicial investigations into 44 forest fires that occurred in 16 provinces since June 1, 2026, are ongoing. Minister Gürlek stated that 29 suspects have been identified, six of whom have been detained, and nine suspects have been subject to judicial control measures. Six suspects are currently under detention, and judicial proceedings against them are ongoing. The Minister of Justice made a written statement on social media regarding the forest fires and noted that the Department of Natural Disasters and Accidents, established within the Ministry of Justice, is closely monitoring the judicial processes related to forest fires.
