Organized Crime Operation: 31 People Detained
In an organized crime investigation, 31 people, including public officials, were detained. It was discovered that the suspects had obtained fake identity and driver's license documents and created fake residence permits.Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced the operation, stating that 'an organized and systematic crime organization that abused the state's trust has been exposed.'

Under the coordination of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Istanbul Gendarmerie Command has launched search, seizure, and detention operations against 31 suspects in Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Düzce, Bursa, Şanlıurfa, Çanakkale, and Edirne. I clearly state that in the coming period, we will implement much stricter, more deterrent, and comprehensive measures against official document forgery crimes.

It was determined that the suspects were in contact with some public officials working in population offices, issued identity documents to individuals with a wanted record, provided documents to people without a driver's license, created fake residence permits, and attempted to transfer property with fake identities.
