School Security to be Enhanced: 30,000 Garden Officials to be Recruited

A significant step has been taken to prevent potential violence in schools. Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi announced that 30,000 security personnel will be employed as garden officials.Garden officials will work to ensure school security and prevent potential violence. Minister Çiftçi stated that applications for the positions will be made through İŞKUR. It was noted that the risk situation of schools is reassessed every month in meetings held with the governorships.It was stated that law enforcement will continue to work in schools considered to be at risk. Garden officials will start working as an additional precaution. After the attacks in schools, the 7-Step School Security Model was announced.With the start of garden officials, the physical security and early warning leg of the model are aimed to be strengthened. Garden officials will work at school entrances and exits. Officials will monitor student, parent, and visitor traffic and report any suspicious situations to school management and law enforcement.
