Enhanced Security in Schools: Cameras to be Integrated into Police Monitoring System

Security measures in schools are set to be reinforced with the new academic year. Minister of Education Yusuf Tekin announced that school security cameras will be connected to the Urban Security Management System (KGYS). Minister Tekin stated that this system will enable police to monitor security-related developments in schools. He also mentioned that measures such as the presence of armed police officers in schools with security risks and regular police patrols in some schools will be taken. Minister Tekin emphasized that the school security system is being strengthened in cooperation with law enforcement units. He noted that each school will have its own security system, taking into account factors such as the height of school walls, and that joint efforts with law enforcement units will continue. Minister Tekin mentioned that commission meetings on security measures have been held and that these measures will be further tightened in the upcoming academic year. He also stated that those responsible for school attacks will face the most severe penalties.
