Nuclear Energy Sector Meets in Istanbul: Emphasis on Strong Local Industry

One of Turkey's most important nuclear energy organizations, the Nuclear Power Plants Summit, brought together approximately 1100 industry representatives in Istanbul. The summit hosted critical contacts for international cooperation agreements and nuclear power plant projects.Turkey's local nuclear industry and global supply chain goals were highlighted. One of the notable topics of the summit was the 199 new business development meetings. Commercial contacts and international agreements were also signed during the organization. The President of the Ankara Chamber of Industry stated that Turkey's goal should not be limited to being a country that only produces nuclear energy.

Within the scope of NPPES, we had the opportunity to evaluate the latest developments in the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which is targeted to be put into operation this year. In addition, we held important meetings with international technology companies and sector representatives who showed interest in the second and third nuclear power plant projects planned to be implemented in Sinop and Thrace.

The President of the Nuclear Industry Association said that the Akkuyu, Sinop, and Trakya nuclear power plant projects were discussed with international technology companies at the summit.
