NATO’s Crimes Exposed in Ankara Exhibition

As Ankara prepares for the NATO summit, an exhibition has been held to showcase the actions taken by NATO from its inception to the present day. The 'NATO’s Crimes' exhibition, held at the Nazım Hikmet Cultural Center, presents the atrocities, coups, and occupations committed by the organization against people around the world through visual documents. The exhibition covers processes ranging from the disintegration of Yugoslavia to the devastation in the Middle East. Additionally, it touches upon the escalation of counter-guerrilla activities in Turkey since its entry into NATO and the unsolved murders. Hakan Bulut, Director of the Nazım Hikmet Cultural Center, made the following statement regarding the exhibition:

Although NATO declared itself a military 'defense' organization at its inception, it was established as a military alliance against the Soviet Union. After the Soviet Union dissolved and its primary reason for existence disappeared, its main mission remained to serve as the guardian and triggerman of imperialism, suppressing the struggles of working-class people it considers enemies.
