Ankara Prepares for NATO Summit with Enhanced Security Measures

In preparation for the upcoming NATO Leaders Summit in Ankara, approximately 56,000 security personnel are set to be deployed across the city. Security measures have been heightened, with checkpoints established at city entrances and increased scrutiny of suspicious vehicles. The Kent Güvenlik Yönetim Sistemi (KGYS) Center will serve as a crisis management hub, monitoring the city in real-time.Ankara Deputy Police Chief Arif Hakan Tandoğan stated that around 49,000 law enforcement personnel and 7,000 gendarmerie will be involved in the security efforts. Tandoğan noted, 'We have conducted approximately 900 shock applications so far, and all details are being evaluated.'Tandoğan also mentioned the establishment of crisis centers, saying, 'Our KGYS center will have a large crisis management unit, with continuous monitoring and follow-up.' Traffic Control Branch Manager Sevil Atasoy announced that all traffic measures have been taken within the city and its surroundings. Citizens are encouraged to report any concerns to the 112 emergency hotline.
