Special 5 Lira Coin Issued to Commemorate NATO Summit

A special project was launched to commemorate the NATO Summit held in Ankara. As part of this project, a special commemorative coin was minted for circulation.The coin, minted by the Darphane, was designed on the 5 lira coin. One side of the coin features the NATO logo, the location and date of the summit, and a graphic image of the Presidential Complex.The other side features the existing design of the 5 lira coin. Initially, 100,000 coins were minted, with plans to produce an additional 400,000 during the summit.This is expected to bring the total production to 500,000 coins.
