NASA Chief: China Will Land on the Moon, the Question is Whether the US Will Return First

NASA Chief Jared Isaacman evaluated the space race between the US and China for sending humans to the Moon. Isaacman stated that the two countries' schedules are only months apart and emphasized that China's Moon program is progressing at an 'incredible pace'.The main issue, according to Isaacman, is not whether China can reach the Moon, but whether the US can achieve this before China. NASA plans to send astronauts to the Moon's surface within two years under the Artemis program.

The real question is whether the US can return to the Moon before China and do it differently this time. Can we establish a base there, create a sustainable presence? I think the answer is yes.

The NASA Chief announced that the infrastructure work on the Moon will begin in 2027, and the astronauts will have a lunar vehicle and basic infrastructure waiting for them during the first landing. Meanwhile, Beijing denies being in a space race with the US.
