The Germans colonized present-day Namibia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and killed tens of thousands of indigenous people between 1904 and 1908. This event is considered by some experts as the first genocide of the century.Reconciliation events should be organized, and the memory of those events should be kept alive. This should not be a one-time event, but a series of events.
Namibia Demands Compensation from Germany for Past Genocide

Namibia is demanding compensation from Germany for the genocide committed by the Germans against the Herero and Nama tribes in the early 20th century.
Namibia's Attorney General Festus Katuna Mbandeka stated that Germany has acknowledged the genocide and officially apologized. Mbandeka noted that the issue of compensation is still on the agenda and that negotiations are ongoing between Namibia and Germany regarding the scope of the compensation.
Mbandeka said, “The issue of compensation is still on the agenda, what can the Germans do to atone for their sins? No amount of money can compensate for the suffering and lives lost.”
