Muğla Strengthens Firefighting Efforts: 25 Water Tankers Distributed to Neighborhoods

The Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has taken a significant step to increase the speed of initial response to potential forest fires. 25 water tankers were delivered to rural neighborhoods. Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras emphasized the importance of the first minutes of fires and stated that they have strengthened the first line of defense in rural areas. Speaking at the ceremony held at the Fire Department, Mayor Aras stated that recent forest fires have once again shown the importance of early intervention. Mayor Aras noted that the first minutes of fires are decisive and that the tankers delivered to rural neighborhoods will be an important part of the first line of defense. The municipality stated that it will continue to support the response to fires in residential areas in coordination with relevant institutions when needed. Aras stated that the fire department has been strengthened in terms of both personnel and vehicles, with 180 new personnel starting their duties and 72 new vehicles being added to the fleet with an investment of approximately 18 million euros under a World Bank loan. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department President Yıldırım Arslan also stated that the new tankers have further increased the preparedness of rural neighborhoods against fires.
