Increase in Examination Participation Fees: Effective as of Today

A significant increase has been made in the examination participation fees with the changes made in the Social Security Institution Health Practice Communiqué. Accordingly, the examination participation fee in private hospitals has been increased to 100 TL, in the second-tier state hospitals to 50 TL, and in education and research hospitals and university hospitals to 90 TL. According to the news, these changes will be effective as of today. The participation fee for physician and dentist examinations in second-tier official health institutions, which was increased from 20 TL to 26 TL at the beginning of the year, has been increased to 50 TL. The participation fee, which was increased from 20 TL to 26 TL in January in the education and research hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health and the polyclinics affiliated to these hospitals, the third-tier hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health, and the hospitals of the medical and dental faculties of state universities, has been increased to 90 TL. The examination participation fee, which was increased to 26 TL in January in the medical and dental faculties of private universities, has been increased to 100 TL. The participation fee, which was 60 TL in the second and third-tier private hospitals, has been increased to 100 TL. A 50% discount will be applied to the participation fee taken from patients referred by family physicians or workplace physicians. The increased prices for examination participation fees will come into effect as of today. In addition to the examination participation fee, an additional 30 TL will be taken for applications made to different hospitals in the same branch of expertise within 10 days, excluding emergency cases. Previously, the additional fee was 5 TL. The examination participation fees, which had not been increased for a long time, were increased by 5-6 times last year and raised to 45 TL. This increase was met with reaction from the public, and it was determined that it had an inflationary effect. Upon this, the increases were withdrawn and the examination participation fee was reduced to 20 TL.
