Tax Reduction on Diesel: New Prices Announced with 9 Lira Decrease

One of the significant steps taken to combat inflation is the introduction of a staggered application for the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) on diesel fuel. This regulation has resulted in a 9 lira decrease in the liter price of diesel fuel until the end of August. The tax regulation on the fuel market has officially come into effect. As part of this regulation, the ÖTV on diesel fuel has been reduced to zero until the end of August, leading to a price decrease of approximately 9 lira at the pump. With the new prices, the liter price of diesel fuel has dropped to around 70.80 lira in Istanbul, 71.92 lira in Ankara, and 72.20 lira in Izmir. Furthermore, the tax regulation has significantly mitigated the impact of high global oil prices on pump prices in the short term. As per the official decision, the ÖTV on diesel fuel has been zeroed out until the end of August. The aim of this decision is to reduce the price pressure on consumers, carriers, and industrialists and to combat inflation by lowering diesel fuel prices. The ÖTV reduction on diesel fuel will gradually come to an end after August. According to the decision, the ÖTV amount will be increased by 3 lira every month until the end of the year.
