Moscow Makes Important Statement: Lavrov-Rubio Meeting on the Agenda

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that preparations are underway for a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his US counterpart Marco Rubio during the ASEAN meeting in the Philippines. Zakharova noted that work is being done on a meeting between Lavrov and Rubio on the sidelines of the ASEAN events in Manila. Previously, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed his readiness to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit. Relations between Russia and the US have remained tense in recent times.
