Artificial Intelligence and Creative Economy Discussed in Moscow
The Russian Creativity Week in Moscow brought together state officials, technology companies, and cultural sector representatives to discuss artificial intelligence and the creative economy. The Russian Creativity Week, one of Russia's most important organizations in the field of creative economy, united the worlds of technology, culture, and economy on the same platform. The session, moderated by Forbes Russia Development Director Dmitriy Ozman, was attended by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mariya Zaharova, Head of the Digital Infrastructure Department of the Russian Presidential Administration Tatyana Matveyeva, Rospatent Chief Yuriy Zubov, Gazprom-Media Holding Deputy General Manager Yuliya Golubeva, and Ouchhh Studio Founder Ferdi Alıcı. Tatyana Matveyeva stated that one of Russia's most significant advantages in global competition is its sovereign digital technologies. Matveyeva noted that Russia aims not only to develop its own digital infrastructure but also to strengthen the digital sovereignty of countries with which it cooperates through technology transfer. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mariya Zaharova said that technology alone is not enough in global competition, and that meaning, technological capacity, and cultural identity must be preserved together. Ouchhh Studio Founder Ferdi Alıcı presented on artificial intelligence-supported digital art projects, explaining that art, science, and technology are increasingly intertwined. Alıcı said they work with the understanding that 'data is our paint, and algorithms are our brush'. Moscow Culture Department Deputy Head Mihail Demidenko stated that Moscow has been evaluating the creative economy as a strategic development area since approximately 2015. Demidenko said that the city administration has been implementing numerous programs to support creative initiatives, contributing to Russian companies' entry into international markets, and that the share of creative industries in the city's economy has been increasing regularly every year.
