High-Speed Train Project Between Moscow and Minsk Announced

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the construction of a high-speed railway line between Moscow and Minsk. This project aims to strengthen the transportation and trade integration between Russia and Belarus. In his video message, Putin revealed new projects to enhance the transportation infrastructure between the two countries, including the expansion of existing air and railway connections. A high-speed railway line between Moscow and Minsk is also among the planned projects. Putin stated that regular passenger flights are being operated from 10 Russian regions to Belarus, and in April, cross-border commuter trains started operating between Smolensk-Vitebsk and Smolensk-Orsha. Emphasizing the deepening of economic cooperation between the two countries in the field of transportation, Putin noted that Belarus' export products are being transported to world markets through Russia's railway and port infrastructure. Russia aims to build a high-speed rail network of over 4,500 kilometers by 2045. In addition to the Moscow-St. Petersburg line, new high-speed lines will be built to Minsk, Yekaterinburg, Adler, and Ryazan.
