Driver Fined Heavily for Causing Fire During Waste Disposal in Antalya

A significant administrative penalty was imposed on a truck driver in Antalya's Kepez district after a fire broke out during an unauthorized waste disposal operation. The Kepez Municipality reported that the fire was caused by the truck's dump trailer coming into contact with power lines during the waste disposal process, resulting in sparks and subsequent ignition. The fire was extinguished by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality's fire department. Following the incident, the Kepez Municipality launched an investigation to identify the driver, utilizing security cameras and photo trap systems. The driver was subsequently fined 115,000 lira for the unauthorized dumping of construction waste and debris. The Kepez Municipality continues to crack down on illegal waste dumping in the district, employing 35 photo traps to monitor and enforce regulations.
