National Team Beats Bosnia and Herzegovina, One Step Closer to Finishing Group as Leader

The Turkish National Men's Basketball Team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 82-75 in the fifth game of the FIBA 2027 World Cup European Qualifiers 1st Round Group C. Coach Ergin Ataman stated that they achieved victory with their second-half performance. Ataman said, 'Both teams were very aggressive in defense. We made many mistakes in fast breaks in the first half. We missed seven easy steals and gave our opponent easy scoring opportunities. Alperen Şengün's three fouls in the first half also affected us.' Emphasizing that they took control of the game with the system change they made in the second half, Ataman stated, 'We started playing with a different system in the second half. We used Kenan Sipahi and Şehmus Hazer together and evaluated Cedi Osman at number 4. We started the second half very well and kept the game under our control.' Team captain Cedi Osman stated that they expected a difficult match, saying, 'I want to congratulate Bosnia and Herzegovina because they played very aggressively and good basketball. Winning this match was very important for us.'
