Mitsotakis Comments on Turkey's Potential F-35 Purchase

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis made statements to the press after the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government. Mitsotakis responded to a question about Turkey's potential purchase of F-35s from the US, choosing not to make a direct comment.Mitsotakis mentioned Greece's plans regarding the F-35, stating that Greek pilots will begin training in 2027.

It's not my job to comment on other countries' decisions. Greece is not the one to tell the US who to sell defense systems to and who not to.

He also expressed his intention to continue working with Turkish President Erdoğan to build a constructive relationship between Turkey and Greece. Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of European countries taking on a significant share of responsibilities within NATO to maintain the alliance's unity and Euro-Atlantic character.
