MHP Leader Bahçeli: Conflicts Between CHP and New Party Do Not Serve Turkey
MHP General President Devlet Bahçeli evaluated the developments between the CHP and the New Party. Bahçeli said, 'We do not want Mr. Ö zel to be saddened, his political personality to be battered in daily discussions, or to be targeted by the ongoing conflicts between the CHP and the New Party.' MHP General President Bahçeli stated that Turkish democracy has never been on a colorless and spiritless ground where all parties repeat the same words. Turkish democracy is a great national consensus where different voices are heard, different ideas compete in front of the nation, but a common will is put forward when the continuity of the state and the unity of the nation are in question. Making political differences an excuse for conflict will not serve Turkey. Turning separation into enmity, poisoning competition with a sense of revenge, and turning intra-party conflicts into social tension will damage the reputation of Turkish politics. MHP General President Bahçeli said that the accounting of the past should not turn into a revenge pursuit that holds the future hostage.
