When Will the Central Bank's Interest Rate Decision Be Announced? Economists' Expectations
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) will hold its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on July 23 and announce the interest rate decision at 14:00. Economists expect the interest rates to remain unchanged this month due to the escalating US-Iran tensions and rising oil prices. The Fed will announce its decision next week, and after the Monetary Policy Committee meeting on July 29, the interest rate decision will be announced at 21:00 Turkish time. The CBRT's interest rate decision has been announced, with the Monetary Policy Committee keeping the policy rate at 37%. Throughout 2025, the Central Bank either lowered or kept the policy rate unchanged. The policy rate, which was 47.5% at the beginning of the year, decreased to 38% by the end of the year. In January 2025, the policy rate was reduced from 47.5% to 45%. In March 2025, the policy rate was reduced from 45% to 42.5%. In April 2025, the policy rate was increased from 42.5% to 46%. In June 2025, the policy rate was kept unchanged at 46%. In July 2025, the meeting was held, and the rate was left unchanged. In September 2025, the policy rate was reduced from 43% to 40.5%. In October 2025, the policy rate was reduced from 40.5% to 39.5%. In December 2025, the policy rate was reduced from 39.5% to 38%. In January 2026, the policy rate was reduced from 38% to 37%. In March, the CB kept the policy rate at 37%. In April, the policy rate was kept unchanged at 37%. In May, no interest rate decision was announced. In June, the policy rate was kept unchanged at 37%.
