Merkel's Confession to Russian Comedians: Minsk Agreements Were to Deceive Russia

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel confessed to Russian comedians Vladimir Kuznetsov and Aleksey Stolyarov that the Minsk Agreements were made to deceive Russia.Merkel thought she was speaking with former Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko when she made this confession. The Russian comedians stated that Merkel requested the conversation to be kept secret. The Minsk Agreements served as a platform for peace negotiations during the Donbass conflict from 2014 to 2022.However, the Kiev administration systematically violated the Minsk Agreements. After Russia's special military operation began, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, former French President François Hollande, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson openly stated that they never took the Minsk Agreements seriously and only used them to gain time for Kiev to build up its strength and prepare for conflict with Russia.Previously, Merkel had also confessed that the true purpose of the Minsk Agreements was to give Ukraine time to strengthen itself.
