Menderes Mayor Ilkay Cicek Arrested

The number of people arrested in the Menderes Municipality investigation has risen to 10. Menderes Mayor Ilkay Cicek is among those arrested. Cicek was detained on August 5 in an operation by law enforcement units on charges of 'bribery' and 'embezzlement'. CHP Secretary General Rıfat Turuntay Nalbantoğlu announced that Menderes Mayor Ilkay Cicek had been referred to the disciplinary board. Nalbantoğlu stated on social media that the party would not tolerate behavior contrary to its principles.
