Lebanese President: Negotiations in Washington Are Independent of US-Iran Talks

Lebanese President Joseph Avn stated that the negotiations in Washington are independent of the talks between the US and Iran. Outlining the goals of the efforts to establish a permanent ceasefire in southern Lebanon, Avn mentioned the withdrawal of Israeli troops, the deployment of the Lebanese army, and the return of civilians to their homes. Emphasizing that the negotiations in Washington are separate from the US-Iran talks, Avn expressed the need for the UK's support in maintaining an international presence in southern Lebanon after the withdrawal of the United Nations Interim Force.
